Narrative
On December 4, 2014, the N. C. Department of Transportation released the draft 10-year State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which schedules the projects proposed for full or partial funding across the state in the Final 2016-2015 STIP. The first five years of project programming is called the STIP and the latter five years of project programming is called the developmental program. The STIP is updated every two years.
The projects included in the STIP that are located in the DCHC MPO area become the basis fo rthe development of the MPO's draft FY2016-2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). In the MPO's TIP there are projects that were prioritized throught the Strategic Transportation Investment (STI) process and there are projects that were prioritized and selected by jurisdictions and the MPO.
