Title
FY 2024-2033 Draft STIP Update (5 minutes)
Kelly Fomenko, LPA Staff
Narrative
A draft STIP was released on April 3rd that contained updates on 41 prioritization projects within the DCHC MPO boundaries. Another draft STIP was released on May 5th that shows is the comprehensive document that will be brought to the Board of Transportation (BOT) for adoption in June. While there have been several versions of this draft over the last few years due to STIP balancing efforts, this May version is intended as the final draft as the plan will otherwise lapse. Recent changes include:
• DCHC MPO approved swaps. This impacts projects U-5304F, U-5774F, U-6118, and U-6120 that were swapped in and became committed projects, as well as projects U-5720B, U-5774B, and U-6021 that were swapped out and became uncommitted. Uncommitted projects are funded for preliminary engineering and will recompete as carryover projects in SPOT 7.0.
• U-5516 US 501 (Roxboro Road) has become uncommitted and is only funded for preliminary engineering. This project will also recompete as a carryover project in SPOT 7.0. DCHC MPO can consider options for swapping this project back into the STIP for incorporation post FY24-33 STIP adoption.
• Projects I-5707 I-40 Auxilary Lane, U-5518 US 70 Upgrade, and U-6192 US 15-501
Synchronized Street Conversion were all delayed one additional year from the
August draft STIP, with ROW scheduled for 2024, 2025, and 2027, respectively.
Attached are the current FY2020-2029 STIP (which will continue to be updated through the FY2024-2033 STIP adoption), the April update which shows recent changes, and the May draft STIP planned for adoption.
